Socket level communications (required): Low level socket programming experience (in Java, experience in C/C++ a plus). Job Description

Seeking a superb Java Software Developer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, modification, programming and implementation of software applications, databases, enterprise reporting, and analysis solutions. This role includes a variety of complex tasks: application development; database administration; data analysis; data and file security. The individual plays a lead role in small-scale IS projects and an active role in large scale projects. The individual will also support and mentor other IS staff when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities
* Write and maintain appropriate documentation to describe program development, logic, utilize coding library and repository tools for revisions.
* Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
* Assist management and personnel with creation and maintenance of custom applications as required.
* Assist a team of Java developers with middle-tier responsibilities within a multi-tiered framework.
* Implement designs laid out by senior personnel.
* Assist other development teams as necessary.
* Contribute innovative ideas to improve the overall quality of the software.
* Design, create, and execute test cases through the entire testing life cycle: from unit tests to integration and context tests to system tests to regression tests.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
* Minimum education and experience: Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least three years experience in the field or a related area.
* Experience creating, maintaining and troubleshooting relational and transactional databases such as MySQL.
* Experience developing with an Eclipse-based IDE.
* Experience using version control and implementing/following versioning best practices (preferably with Subversion version control).
* Experience with the following languages/technologies:
- Java
- Spring (as many facets of the Spring framework as possible)
- Hibernate
- JUnit
- JMS (specifically ActiveMQ)
- MySQL
* Experience developing a multi-tiered enterprise solution, preferably with web integration.
* Ability to work within a technical team and cross-functionally.
* Ability to think critically.
